Move Up Day 2017

Posted on: 22nd Jun 2017 by: Probus Primary School

On Tuesday 27th June the majority of our Year 6 children will spend a day at The Roseland Academy and so it is an ideal opportunity for all our children to move up to spend a day with the teacher they will have for the next academic year.  This of course means we welcome our new Reception class children into school for the morning and lunch as well.

I have outlined the organisation in the table below:

Year Group

Teacher

Reception

Mrs Wykes & Mrs Arthur

Year 1

TBC & Mrs Perfect

Year 2

Miss Livingstone

Year 3

Miss Hall

Year 4

Mr Maloney, Mrs Jones & Mrs Holmes

Year 5

Mr Parekh

Year 6

Miss Norton

As you can see from the class structure above, the majority of teachers are remaining in their year groups but there are a few changes.  In our new Reception class Mrs Arthur, who recently returned to the school from maternity leave, will work alongside Mrs Wykes.  In Year 1 we will be welcoming a new teacher to job share with Mrs Perfect.  This position is in the process of being appointed.

Finally, we are delighted that Mrs Holmes is returning to Probus School after maternity leave and she will share Year 4 with Mrs Jones who continues in her role as trainee teacher on a school based route.  Mr Maloney, our Assistant Head Teacher will teach for one day a week.

I do hope the children enjoy Move Up Day and that this helps to reassure them with regard to the year ahead.  We ask that children arrive at school as they would in September (therefore our current Year 2 class will enter via the KS2 gate) and go straight to their new classroom, however at the end of the day children will be dismissed via their current year group (i.e. Year 2 will exit via the KS1 gate).
