Oak Class is our Year 6 class and is taught by Mr Parekh with Mrs Eames as our teaching assistant. 
Children are expected to read at home at least 5 times a week as part of the home/school agreement. Reading records will be checked at the end of the week - if you have read 5 times, you will receive a sticker to put on your reading chart! 
Homework will be set on Fridays and will be due in on Wednesday.
Both spellings and homework will be set via SeeSaw, Google Classroom or CGP work books. 
PE day = Tuesday afternoons 
Children will not need PE kits in school until further notice (you can wear suitable trainers to school or wear school shoes and trainers separately).

A Child's War
Created a front cover for the topic - explored and discussed key WW2 vocabulary and information 
Looked at a WW2 Poem - The Click of the Garden Gate 
Handwriting linked to the poem
Responded to the poem.
Looked at the UK map and plotted bombed areas.
Thought about why these places were targetted.
Put events of WW2 in chronological order and researched more events to add.
Discussed these events and major events discovered by the class.
Children during our Evacuee Day!
We made apple crumble, wrote about being an evacuee and made morse code symbols using circuits!

Autumn 2: Blood Heart!
Dissecting lamb's and pig's hearts! It made some of the children green around the gills and some others a bit peckish! We drew the hearts (trying to be realistic) before making clay heart cases!
