Probus Nursery (formerly known as Little Acorns), opened as part of Probus Primary School in September 2009. We are an integral part of the school community working within the framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Having established very close links between the settings we work together with the Reception class, sharing expertise and resources.

Our nursery offers an exciting and vibrant learning environment with a positive ethos and a warm family atmosphere that welcomes both children and their parents.  We have well-qualified, experienced, caring staff who enable us to provide the very best in pre-school nursery education.  The children are continually encouraged to explore new experiences, discuss and develop their interests and celebrate their wonderful ideas and cultural backgrounds.

We are very lucky to operate within the grounds of the main school, in our own building. We have access to all the main school equipment, including the playground equipment, fields, garden, hall for PE and computer suite.

Probus Nursery provides places for up to 25 children per day. We operate a waiting list for children who wish to attend sessions that are over-subscribed.

We currently have availability throughout the week so please contact us for more details.

Wraparound Care
Breakfast Club & After School Club  is available to children aged 3 years plus, if already in receipt of 3/4 year old funding.
Nursery Uniform

Children currently wear the 'Little Acorns' uniform which comprises a jade green polo shirt and jade green sweatshirt.

NOTE: The 'Little Acorns'  uniform is being phased out over the course of the 2020/21 academic year and won't be available to purchase as of 31st March 2021.  Children are still able to wear existing Little Acorns uniform for summer term 2021.

As of September 2021, children will be encouraged to wear the main Probus School jade jumper, available to purchase from KeyWear School Uniform in Truro. Sizes for little ones are available, starting from 1-2 years upwards.  *Polo shirts have been discontinued & are not included in the new uniform expectations.

We also ask parents/carers to ensure that suitable outdoor clothing, including waterproofs and wellies, are supplied clearly named.  These may be kept in nursery so we can take advantage to go exploring!
