Rowan Year 3 Class 2025-26

Mr Parekh

Class Teacher

Welcome to Year 3:  Rowan Class!

Hello and welcome. My name is Mr Parekh and I am very excited to be your child's teacher this year!

If you ever have any questions or need any help, please come and speak to me!

Our Day Begins at 8:45am
Children can enter through the Key Stage One playground via the Key Stage One door.We begin our learning straightaway, so it’s important to arrive on time and ready to go!

What to Bring Each Day
Please ensure your child brings the following items every day:

  • Their reading book and reading record
  • A labelled water bottle

PE

PE kits should be kept in school and should consist of a black shorts, trainers and a white t-shirt..

Art and Creativity
Art can get messy, so please send in an old adult t-shirt labelled with your child’s name to help protect their uniform.

Homework and Reading - I will send more information about how to look at spellings and reading at home effectively so WATCH THIS SPACE!

  • Spelling homework will be set every Friday and tested the following Friday
  • We encourage reading at least five times a week at home. It can be more beneficial to read fewer pages but talk about the text more.
  • In class, we’ll be exploring texts in depth through guided reading sessions, helping children develop their comprehension and interpretation skills.

Labelling
Please make sure all belongings are clearly labelled to help us return any lost items quickly.

A Little About Me
I’d love for you to get to know me too! Here are ten fun facts:

  1. I have two children, Theo who attends The Roseland and Evie who attends Probus School.
  2. I have a black cockapoo called Bertie! (He is a cheeky chappy!)
  3. When I was younger I thought about becoming many things: an artist, a chef, a police officer and a carpenter!
  4. I was born at Treliske Hospital in the late 1900s.
  5. I love sports—especially rugby and football.
  6. My favourite animal are tigers.
  7. I visited Milan and watched AC Milan at the San Siro and ate the most delicious carbonara in a tiny restaurant.
  8. I love going to the beach and enjoy going on a paddle board... even though I always fall off.
  9. I went to Bath Spa University (and watched a lot of Bath rugby games!)
  10. I LOVE teaching! I wanted to become a teacher since I worked at Tresillian Infant School for work experience in Year 10.

Say hello when you see me at the gate!
